Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American singer-songwriter and popular actress. Sara Ramirez was brought up by an American mother, and was subjected to a variety of racist taunts, which caused her to feel uncomfortable. In the 9th grade, she felt more secure after being acknowledged by her teachers as a success for her performance at school's audition. It not only boosted the confidence of her, but altered the direction of her career. In 1992 she graduated with her degree from New York's Julliard School. In the year 23 she began her career making her first appearance on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. Her biggest break came with her performance as The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great praise for the performance. In the following year she was cast in the role of the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. She is a popular singer. she also has released an album and a musical. In her role as an activist, she strives for LGBT equality.
