Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first TV roles were two appearances in the role of Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mother. In fear of stress, her parents did not want to see her pursue acting before she reached the age of 18. Perry admitted that she wasn't comfortable acting in high school. She began acting to make friends during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry began her career as an actress in New York after graduation, landing minor parts in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry go back to California and find work as a theater actress. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway as a couple in The Other Place, in 2013. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. Perry appeared nine times in The Family, an ABC thriller The Family, in 2016. In 2017, she played her own recurring part on The ABC drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. She was also cast in her role on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. Despite having a family connection to the character, she was offered the role via an audition.
